Vangaveeti, The Film which was said to be the last Telugu film of Ram Gopal Varma, finally hit the screens today. Vangaveeti is based on lives of political leaders of Vijayawada Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga and his brother Vangaveeti Radha Krishna. RGV fans as well as other film buffs were eager to watch Vangaveeti because it might be the last Telugu film of RGV. Lets see how the film is…
Story : The story is based totally on gang-wars between Vangaveeti and Devineni families. The Film showcases the raise of Vangaveeti Radha Krishna from a small gangster to a big gang leader. How he was assassinated by his rivalry group and After Radha’s assassination, How Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga takes his brother’s seat and plans a revenge. How he executes it.. what happens next… forms rest of the film.
Analysis: Ram Gopal Varma has tried his best to put the whole political turmoil into 2 and half hours which was happened for more than 15 years. He succeeded to only some extent. The Film lacks gripping narration in the second half. It also lacks the reasoning behind some scenes because RGV skipped to show them. This might make viewers confused at some parts.
Major strength of the film are some action episodes which were shot very well, RGV is the master of directing such realistic action sequences. Another plus point of the film is Sandeep. He excelled in both roles. We should accept Telugu film industry has got a good actor in the form of Sandeep.
While we say action scenes are the major strength of the film, it has to be noted that those action scenes are of full blood and gore. Excessive violence is another draw back of the film, because some may feel it as very disturbing.
Climax of the film is also not so great. At the end viewers may feel the film is a half-baked one. The Film doesn’t have a good conclusion.
Technical aspects: The camera work of the film is one of the highlights of the film. The Film has some good visuals. Editing of the film could’ve been more crisp. Re-recording is worth an appreciation
Half baked execution
lack of gripping narration at some parts
Verdict: Vangaveeti is a typical RGV film which has its moments. But half baked drama and lack of gripping narration at some parts are the major draw backs. RGV fans can give it a shot easily. But others may not find it so interesting.
RATING : 2.75/5
