Nirmala convent, the film which is supposed to be a launch pad for Roshan Meka, has finally hit the screens. Produced and backed by Nagarjuna, For the reason,The film has got decent hype before the release. Lets see how the film is..
Samuel (Roshan) is son of a poor farmer. He is a student of Nirmala convent. He is an intelligent and clever student. Shanti (Shriya Sharma) who is also a student of Nirmala Convent woos Samuel. He falls in love with Shanti. When Samuel’s father comes to know about his son’s love, he warns him and reminds him about their financial status.Stubborn Samuel determines to become popular. He meets Nagarjuna and requests him to come to his village for conducting a tv program (meelo evaru koreshwarudu). How Samuel wins in that program and his love forms the rest of the story.
The Film’s story is so similar to Slumdog millionaire‘s story. It lacks the freshness, which is necessary to a romantic film. the first half of the film runs on very slow mode. This is major flaw of the film. The direction is little bit old fashioned. Second half is ok. Climax of the film is good. But whole film is predictable. Coming to artists performance, Roshan looks good on screen and his acting is adequate. If he chooses good scripts, he has good future. Shriya Sharma is cute and her smiling face is her major strength. Production values are good. Nagarjuna’s cameo in the film is good. As usual, Lb Sriram looked natural in his role. one song is good. Others are just passable.
slow paced first half
Lack of freshness
Nirmala convent is another romantic film which lacks freshness. If you are a die hard fan of Nagarjuna and ignore flaws in the film, watch it. If not, skip it.
